Ordinary behind the counter. Unforgiving after dark.

Anton Blackwood Character

Anton Blackwood is the entire save file. You do not pick a class. You do not invite a friend. Steam lists a single-player campaign about one man trying to keep a legal life and an illegal life in the same 2012 Brooklyn body. This page is his public dossier: what the studio has said, how that changes the way you spend a day, and what we will not invent before Act 1 launches on September 16, 2026.

The job on the sign

By day Anton runs a small DVD shop. He restocks, sets prices, works the till, and lives in the same building he works. Official copy is almost stubborn about this. The store is not a front you skip; it is where you decorate, change outfits, and practise being ordinary. Customers still exist. Dust still bores people on slow days. The “An Ordinary Day” teaser on the store management page is his daytime voice: dry, tired, and already improvising because nothing sticks to the script.

That daytime job funds Clean Cash — rent, shop upgrades, outfits, civilian weapons, relationship spending. If you play Anton as only a killer, you are not playing the character the systems were built around. Two missed monthly payments of about 11–13k are a game over. The man can survive a firefight and still lose the run to hush money. Read dual economy as biography, not as an accounting elective.

The job that does not go on the sign

By night Anton is a contract killer. Gunplay, melee, and contextual takedowns are how that half of him solves rooms. The prologue footage the studio showed has him stealing a USB from a mob outfit, losing the plot, and fighting out near Grand Army Plaza after a sewer escape. That is the flavour of his nights: professional until it is not, then violently competent. It is not a full Act 1 summary, and this page will not turn it into one.

Dirty Cash from contracts buys the black-market half of his identity: rare guns, illegal mods, untraceable ammo, unique takedown items. Those toys do not pay the rent. Anton can look rich in the basement and poor at the bank. That tension is the character.

What we know about the inner life

Official text says he is caught between survival, morality, and a past that refuses to stay buried. Preview pieces add that someone is watching and trying to steer him. He does not volunteer biography in the teaser dialogue (“Nothing interesting there”). Believe the deflection. A thriller that prints the backstory on page one is not this game.

He is allowed to be flawed. Coverage has compared the combat to John Wick and Max Payne; those comparisons are about motion, not about Anton being a licensed franchise character. He is an original protagonist from AttritoM7 Productions, the Bangladesh studio behind Zero Hour. Do not import a Wick dossier onto him.

Relationships that change systems

Amelie works the shop. She sees a gentler side of him that the street does not. Time spent with her opens opportunities later. That is as far as this wiki goes. No last name, no confirmed romance route, no ending chart. If you skip her because the night missions are louder, you are skipping both a labour tool and a story flag.

Outfits are how Anton performs. Clean Cash clothes are not only fashion; they are the costume of the legal life. Civilian weapons are the same idea with a trigger. A night rifle on a day errand is a character mistake even if the damage number is higher. Builds exist so you can kit both halves.

How to play him on purpose

  1. Open the shop before you open a contract. That is his job.
  2. Leave Amelie on the counter when you disappear. That is his trust experiment.
  3. Spend Dirty Cash like it is evidence, not like it is a video-game wallet.
  4. Use takedowns when a health stage drops — he is good at close work, not immortal. See combat.
  5. Sleep knowing the month moved. Anton does not get a free calendar because a mission went well.

Getting Started is the loop in list form. This page is why the loop is shaped like a person. The Story hub holds the trailer and the spoiler policy. The roadmap reminds you that Act 1 is four main missions, not the rest of his life.

What this page will not do

It will not assign Anton an age, a military rank, or a dead-wife origin that the studio has not stated. It will not confirm that he “is John Wick.” It will not list Act 1 clients by name before those names are in the shipping subtitles. After launch, this URL will gain a short timeline of public story beats with spoiler toggles in prose, not in a hidden CSS trick — we will simply warn above the fold.

If you came here from a search for “BLACKWOOD protagonist,” you are in the right place. If you came here for cheat codes, you are in the wrong game. Anton’s problems are bills, bullets, and a watcher. Only two of those can be shot.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Is Anton Blackwood a silent protagonist?

No. Trailers give him dialogue and a dry daytime register. He still withholds his past on purpose.

Can I skip the shop and only play him as a killer?

You can neglect the shop, but Clean Cash pays rent and two missed months end the save. That is part of who he is. See store management.

Can I play Anton with friends?

No. BLACKWOOD is single-player. The double life is his, including the game over.

Where do I learn his combat style?

Read combat and weapon customization. This page is character; those pages are hands.
