Release Date

BLACKWOOD Act 1 launches on September 16, 2026 on Steam for Windows. That date comes from the official announcement and matches the Steam store listing. This page is the launch briefing: platforms, price, language, what is in the box, and what is still later. For the multi-year plan, use the roadmap. For PC specs, use system requirements. For how to spend the first days, use Getting Started.

Date, store, and time zone

Steam lists September 16, 2026, 17:00 UTC in database dumps, which is afternoon in Western Europe and morning in the Americas. If you are in Japan, some coverage noted September 17 local because of the time zone. Wishlist notifications from Steam remain the reliable alarm. This wiki will not invent a midnight rollout for every region.

The game is coming soon until that stamp flips. There are no user reviews yet because there is no public build to review. Pre-release “review scores” on random blogs are not Steam reviews.

What you can play it on

  • PC, Windows 10 or 11 64-bit
  • Steam only in the current listing
  • No Mac
  • No Linux
  • No console SKU announced on the Steam page
  • Full controller support if you prefer a pad

If you were searching for a Roblox BLACKWOOD, you are in the wrong tab. This BLACKWOOD is AttritoM7 Productions and IZilla Games, app ID 3639070.

Price and what “one purchase” means

Act 1 launches at $24.99. The studio’s post is unusually clear for a split campaign:

  • You buy the full game, not a season pass.
  • Act 2 and Act 3 are free updates for owners.
  • After Act 2 ships, new buyers see $29.99.
  • After Act 3 ships, new buyers see $34.99.

Buying at Act 1 is the cheapest official path to the complete three-act story if those later acts ship as planned. Plans can slip. The roadmap keeps the windows (March 2027, September 2027) without pretending they are as hard as the September 16 stamp.

Regional Steam prices will convert. Taxes depend on your store. This page quotes the dollar figure from the announcement.

Language and content rating

Steam’s language table is a single row: English interface, English full audio, English subtitles. A commenter on the deep dive asked about Spanish subtitles; they are not listed. This wiki still offers French, German, and Spanish articles for players who read those languages, but the game client is English until the studio adds more rows.

Mature descriptors: blood and gore, intense violence, strong language, use of drugs and alcohol. Frequent violence or gore and general mature content sit on the Steam content descriptor list. This is not a kids’ game and not a Roblox hangout.

What Act 1 contains (no mission spoilers)

  • Four main missions
  • Multiple side missions and extra content
  • The DVD shop, apartment, and double-life loop
  • Combat, takedowns, and modular weapons as shown in trailers
  • Steam Achievements, Cloud, and leaderboards as listed

It does not contain Act 2’s four mains or Act 3’s five. If you need a finished novel on day one, wait. If you want the lowest price and the first chapter, September 16 is the date.

A Gamescom 2026 booth demo existed. That is not the same as the shipping build. Do not treat booth length as “how long Act 1 is.”

Launch-night checklist

  1. Confirm SSD space (30 GB) and the GPU bar on system requirements.
  2. Decide pad versus mouse using controls.
  3. Skim store management so you do not skip the shop in the tutorial glow.
  4. Keep dual economy open if the two wallets confuse you in the first hour.
  5. Come back to the Updates hub if a day-one patch drops.

The official release-date trailer on this page is the studio’s own stamp, not a recut. Watch it for tone, then buy or wishlist on Steam from the header button — that link is the store, not a random key shop.

After the date

When Act 1 is live, this page will add a short “it launched” note, file size if it changed, and links to the first patch. We will not keep writing “upcoming” after the Steam button says Play. Until that button changes, every guide on this wiki is pre-release systems work, not a finished campaign walkthrough.
